My love for floral design started long ago, as I grew up on a vegetable farm that produced pretty things and naturally piqued my interest in photography and flowers.

When it became time to get a job outside the farm while in high school, I started working at a grocery store. While working there, I started helping out in the floral department mostly out of necessity for the store. I watched the florists, learning from them and started to get the bug for floral design.

Later on in my early 20's, I started working for a company that made pre-made bouquets for higher end grocery stores, mainly in the Twin Cities area. That is where I expanded my knowledge on names of flowers, how to process them and care for them. I then started doing floral arrangements for friends and family.

As time went on, I got married and had children of my own. Throughout that time, I continued to do floral arrangements here and there, learning as I went. When my children were very young, I decided to start my very own small floral business out of my home that catered to large events and weddings. And in May of 2011, Ma Petite Fête (My Little Party), was born. This way I could work, but still be with my children and a flexible schedule while doing something that I loved. Eventually baby number three came along and I could no longer balance it all and sadly had to shut down Ma Petite Fête about a year after it started.

That was over ten years ago now and a lot of life has happened during that time. One thing that always stayed constant was my love for flowers and creating, as well as the hopeless romantic in me. In the Fall of 2022, I decided to start slowly working my way back towards having a small floral business and now, here we are today.

The Present: Lavender and Lace Floral LLC

I am still an independent, self taught florist that handles the entire process myself. I'm a pediatric and school nurse by day, florist by evening and weekends. The benefit of working with me means you will only need to worry about one point of contact throughout the entire process. There's less overhead since I work out of my home instead of a storefront, which also means I try to pass that savings on to you and tend to specialize in budget weddings and events.

Something that makes me different from other floral businesses (besides working out of my home):

I buy flowers for one event at a time, so my pricing is typically not by arrangement but instead for the whole event. And if I end up with extra flowers after all your ordered arrangements are done, I'll either make some bonus arrangements or send along the extras to do as you please with them!

I welcome couples from all walks of life as both my partner and I are part of the LGBTQ+ community. I am based out of Minneapolis currently, but service approximately a 100 mile radius from the Twin Cities. I pride myself on being reliable, down to earth, a good communicator, versatile, and making your big day as stress free as possible. I love seeing the ideas that people bring to me and give me the honor to bring to life for them. So, please, do not hesitate to bring your vision for your event or wedding my way and let's see how we can collaborate to make your vision a reality.

I look forward to connecting with you about your big day and your celebration of love!
